This graph visualizes the relationship between SAT-Math scores and the number of tutoring hours. Based on longitudinal data collected over two decades, the results demonstrate a strong positive correlation between structured tutoring hours and measurable score improvement. It shows the predicted trend of SAT-Math score improvement as tutoring hours increase. A polynomial regression model was applied to generate the curve, illustrating both the rapid growth and plateau zones.
-
1. Students show the greatest score gains (60–120 points) between 10 and 30 hours of targeted tutoring.
2. The most rapid improvement occurs between 10–25 hours, identified as the 'Rapid Growth Zone.'
3. After approximately 25 hours, the score curve flattens — the 'Plateau Zone' — indicating diminishing returns.
4. Despite the plateau, even small score gains near the 750+ level yield meaningful percentile shifts.
